How the three devices work together.

SignalGeneration, UFI, and Tube Analyzer are each powerful standalone devices — but together they form a complete LV124 / LV148 test chain. This page explains the workflow, when to use them individually vs. together, and how they connect to the full RTStand platform.

Generate → Interrupt → Monitor

Every LV124 / LV148 electrical test follows the same three-step pattern. Each of these devices handles one step — and when combined, the RTStand system automates the entire sequence.

RTStand SignalGeneration

Generate the waveform

SignalGeneration produces the LV124 / LV148 voltage disturbance profile — transient voltages, superimposed alternating voltages, startup profiles, or custom waveforms — and sends it to the amplifier.
It also coordinates the timing: when should the UFI interrupt, how long should the interruption last, and in what sequence should multiple interfaces be tested.
Ultra-fast Interrupter (UFI)

Execute the interruption

The UFI performs the actual switching — interrupting power lines, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, or GMSL connections at the exact moment specified by SignalGeneration.
Each interruption is precisely timed — nanosecond resolution — and coordinates power and communication line switching simultaneously when the norm requires it.
Tube Analyzer

Monitor the ECU

The Tube Analyzer captures everything — voltage and current data — at 100kHz, time-synchronised. This is the measurement record that enables to decide whether the ECU passed or failed.
The data shows the disturbance profile and the ECU’s response on the same time axis — making it immediately clear whether the ECU maintained function, recovered correctly, or failed.

Standalone or integrated — your choice.

Each device works independently. Combine them when you need the full test chain — or buy only what you are missing.

Standalone use

You already have a test setup and need one specific capability

Your lab has existing instruments and infrastructure. You need to add a specific capability — interruption testing on Ethernet — without replacing everything.
  • Buy only the UFI to add Ethernet/GMSL interruption testing to your existing setup
  • Buy only SignalGeneration to control your UFI device

Full RTStand integration

You want a complete, fully automated LV124 / LV148 testing system

You want the full package — automated test execution, automated switching, automated monitoring, automated reporting — without building it yourself. This is what RTStand is.
  • All three devices come pre-integrated in every RTStand system
  • Automation layer handles test sequencing, ECU configuration, norm selection, and report generation
  • 24/7 unattended operation — no manual intervention between test cases
